Nobody writes Chinese fictional novels like Chen Dong (he’s the author of PW). No donghua does the epicness and tragicness like PW.

Reading PW was an emotional rollercoaster for me. Chen Dong is certainly far from the best author nor is PW the best work but I’ve yet to read any novel that contains such lethal dose of tragedy and humour. I lost count how many times I was close to throwing my phone out of the window while reading. The frustration and the torture! But for the life of me, I just couldn’t let it go.

Back to the donghua, is PW the best? Nope but this episode is certainly one of the best episodes I’ve watched, out of all the Chinese donghuas out there. This episode alone redeems all the previous bland and boring episodes the weeks before. Kudos to the studio for bringing the novel to life with such intensity! 🫡

P.S. douluo you got to watch this as a compensation for all the failings DD brought us.

I've so enjoyed watching the evolution of Shi Hao grow from small child
to young adult. These moments shared with us viewers have been nothing
short of spectacular. The writer, the studio and all other parties
involved in bringing the novel to life in cgi form has not been a

The end of the lower realm ended beautifully, with MCs deàth and resurrection being the most symbolic of all. The red robes nodding to his beginning, the white hair a symbol of leaving the past behind a form of rebirth. This episode was worth the wait.
